I love this picture … I am not sure if it is the purplish color on the inside of the shells, or the contrast with the green grass, but I love it. We were down in Oregon near the haystack rocks (here is a picture of them too!) when we pulled into a viewpoint. As we got out to look I leaned over the retaining wall and here was this lovely pile of clam shells in the grass. I found myself looking at them as much as I was looking out at the ocean view and cool geography. Not even the seals out in the water captured my attention as much as these shells did. Strange, I know, but now when I think of the Oregon coast … I think of these shells.
